The Urban Forestry Division of J&K Forest Department today organized a plantation programme at Army Goodwill School HanzikSharifabad here, an official spokesman said.
He said the drive was organized in collaboration withmanagement of the school.
The aim of the drive was to create awareness among studentsabout importance of conserving forests, eco-system. On the occasion students,teachers, forest officers and officers from Army Camp Sharifabad took an activepart and planted saplings. Interacting with the students and staff, the ChiefGuest Zubair Ahmad Shah, Conservator of Forests, Srinagar Circle highlightedthe need to preserve environment and ecology.
