Four drug peddlers held with contraband in Pulwama, Kulgam

Srinagar Nov 8: Police on Monday arrested four drug peddlers from Kulgam and Pulwama districts in south Kashmir and recovered contraband from their possession.

As per a police handout, officers from Police Station Pulwama at a checkpoint established near Gudoora bridge Newa intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK01J-7350 with three persons on board.

   

The trio- Rafiq Sheikh son of Abdul Gani Sheikh resident of Newa, Umer Manzoor son of Manzoor Ahmad Rather and Suhail Andrabi son of Mohd Ismail Andrabi both residents of Natipora Srinagar were found to be in possession of 4.45 grams of Brown Sugar even as 61kg of Fukki concealed in a polythene bag was also recovered from their possession, police said.

They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody even as the vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized. A case vide FIR No. 305/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Pulwama and investigation has been set into motion.

In neighboueit Kulgam district, police arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband from his possession.

On specific information, officers from PS Qazigund raided the suspected residential house at Levdoora, Qazigund. The accused Manzoor Ahmad Ganie, son of late Ghulam Nabi Ganie resident of Levdoora Qazigund was arrested during a raid by police at his residence.

As per police, 1.5kg of poppy straw, 13kg of grinded cannabis, 1.2kg of cannabis powder was also recovered from his possession, police said.

He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody even as a case FIR No 262/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Qazigund and further investigation is in progress.
