Four militants slain in Pulwama firefight identified

The four militants slain in a gunfight with the government forces in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday were affiliated with Jaish-e-Muhammad outfit.

A police source identified the slain as Muzamil Nabi Dar of Rohmoo, Muzamil Nazir Bhat of Prichoo, Waseem Akram Wani of Tikken and a non-local Haris. He said the bodies of the slain local militants were handed over to the next of their kin.

   

The source said that the gunfight broke out today morning after the forces launched a cordon and search operation in Hanjan Payeen village of Rajpora in Pulwama district.

Eleven civilians were injured in clashes with the government forces near the site of the gunfight.

Internet continues to remain suspended in the area.
