Fresh snowfall in Zojila, Sonamarg

Fresh snowfall in Zojila and Sonamarg on Friday has forced suspension of traffic movement on Sonamarg-Drass stretch of Srinagar-Leh highway.

Officials said that more than one foot snowfall was recorded at Minimarg, Zero Point and Captain Mode and around three inches at Sonamarg till evening.

   

A traffic official told Greater Kashmir that traffic movement has been suspended from Sonamarg to Drass on the highway.

PADDY ADVISORY TO STAY

Heavy rain on Friday is not enough to withdraw the advisory asking farmers in Ganderbal, Kupwara, Budgam, Baramulla, Pulwama and Ganderbal districts to not grow paddy this year, says chief engineer irrigation and flood control Muhammad Shahnawaz.
