Srinagar, Nov 12: Scores of National Conference workers hailing from the Eidgah constituency on Monday joined Apni Party under the leadership of Muhammad Ashraf Palpori at Apni Party’s central office here.

Welcoming the new entrants into party-fold, Ghulam Hassan Mir said that Apni Party came into being when there existed a political vacuum in J&K and the people felt disempowered.

“Apni Party leadership has always put forth its unswerving efforts for safeguarding the rights and dignity of the people of J&K without fail. It is the resolve of our party through which the land and job rights in J&K were secured and we are rigorously pursuing the restoration of statehood at the earliest. Apni Party is a people-centric party that focuses on ushering in an era of peace, prosperity, and development in J&K,” he said.

Mir said that the Eidgah constituency had been a victim of utmost negligence where the infrastructural growth and development had been non-existent on ground zero due to which local inhabitants had been pushed to the wall for decades.

“The political negligence is the sole reason for the woes of the people living in Eidgah. It has acted as a blight on the developmental growth in Eidgah which today immensely lags in basic infrastructural amenities. However, with your unstinting support if the Apni party comes into power, we will ensure that this neglected constituency gets its share of visible and equitable development,” he said.

Besides Mir, the joining ceremony took place in presence of Apni Party General Secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir, Provincial President, Kashmir, Muhammad Ashraf Mir, Apni Party Youth President, and Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Mayor JunaidAzimMattu, and others.
