Police have arrested a youth who they claim murdered a minor boy in central Kashmir's Ganderbal district in a fit of revenge.

12-year-old Faisal Hussain Misger of Buserbugh Alasteng was found murdered under mysterious circumstances in fields near his home on Tuesday.

Addressing a press conference here, Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Ganderbal Mohammad Khalil Poswal said the case has been solved and the accused has been arrested.

Giving details, the SSP said that a special investigation team was constituted after the incident.

The team rounded up a suspect namely Abrar Majeed (21) a resident of Buserbugh who was later interrogated and he confessed that he murdered 12-year old boy Faisal in a fit of revenge.

Abrar, according to the police, is known for wrongdoings and is a drug addict.

SSP said that the accused had been stalking the sister of the victim and he got infuriated recently when she got married.

In a fit of rage, he said, the accused took Faisal to a nearby orchad and strangulated him to death.
