The residents of Ganderbal locality on Thursday protested against authorities over breach in local canal.
Several residents of Baranbugh and its adjoining localities near Kangan held protests over breach in local power canal.
They also blocked road in the area.
They said water from the canal has seeped into their localities and has caused damage to their fields and property.
“The breach in the canal is increasing after each passing day for many weeks. The water is entering in our houses and fields,” protestors said. They demanded immediate plugging of the canal.
Later, officials from civil administration reached the spot and assured protestors that their grievance will be resolved.
