The video of a Ganderbal boy without any formal education solving huge sums within a blink of an eye and that too without using any pen or paper has taken social media by a storm.
Lateef Ahmad Parray(25) from Sendbal village of the district is no stranger here. People believe that Lateef is bestowed with a ‘special talent’. Wherever he moves in his district, the people enthusiastically pose a volley of sums to him, and he answers them back within no time.
Son of a farmer Lateef comes from a humble background. Lateef is seen moving through villages of the district like a ‘lunatic’ and mostly spending his time chatting with people on shop fronts.
“We love to chat with him (Lateef). He can solve hard sums,” said Ishfaq Ahmad, who knows Lateef from his childhood.
Lateef as per his family has never been to school. “We witnessed some retarded growth in him, since his birth,” said Abdul Rasheed his close relative.
Rasheed said though his family took Lateef many a times to the doctors, but they repeatedly maintained that he is alright.
For many people in Ganderbal he is akin to ‘Computer’ and needs a financial help from the government side to show his talent.
