Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Syed Ali Shah Geelani has condemned the slapping of PSA on another TeH leader Mehraj-ud-din Rubanni and his shifting to the Baramullah sub Jail.
"Rubanni was arrested today by the Parimpora police station in Srinagar district court complex at the time when he was there to attend his case hearing. Immediately after his arrest, he was booked under PSA and was immediately shifted to Baramullah District Jail. It is 8th such incident in the last three months that a PSA has been slapped on a pro-freedom leader. At present there are dozens of Hurriyat leaders detained under the PSA," a spokesman of the Hurriyat (G) quoted Geelani as having said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat (G) spokesman has appealed to the management of the Kashmir Government Polytechnic (KGP) to soften its "harsh stand" with regard to the students who have been asked not to sit in the upcoming semester examination for shortage of attendance. "The decision of the College authorities will not only put the careers of the students at stake but it can also have negative impact on their state of mind," the spokesman said.
