Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani has paid tributes to the militants, who were killed in a gunfight with the security forces in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Saturday.
In a statement hereGeelani said, “The policy of suppression and repression in Jammu and Kashmirhas failed to yield any positive results for Delhi. We also condemn the use ofbullets and pellets against the protestors, in Shopian today.”
He urged people to stay away from the polls. “Theparticipation in any election may amount to treason and betrayal withsacrifices rendered by our youth. Weneed to strengthen our faith and as a nation we need to be optimistic,” Geelanisaid while addressing to the youth.
