Governor’s administration must fix responsibility: Tarigami

CPI (M) senior leader Muhammad Yusuf Tarigami Saturday demanded that Governor’s administration must fix responsibility in violence directed at a particular community in Jammu.

Addressing media, Tarigami said the authorities should have deployed forces in sensitive areas as there were apprehensions about a flare-up after the “terrible terror attack” on CRPF convoy at Lethpora.

“The loss of so many security personnel while on duty is being mourned across the country. We share the grief and sorrow of victim families of this gruesome terror attack,” he said.

He hailed the role of Jammu Chamber and civil society groups of Jammu that condemned vandalism in Jammu.

“By targeting minority community, fringe elements were vitiating peaceful atmosphere and unity of the state,” Tarigami added.

“Governor’s administration must fix the responsibility,” he said.

He appealed to different political shades of the state, civil society and media to help in maintaining harmony and brotherhood in the state despite provocations from fringe elements.
