Govt forces ‘frequently blocking’ a road for public movement: Legislator

A legislator from South Kashmir on Friday accused Army and paramilitary CRPF of impeding movement of civilians in his constituency.

Speaking in the Legislative assembly, MLA Shangus Gulzar Ahmad said the government forces are not allowing people to pass through a road connecting Brenti with Dailgam via Batpora during the daytime. “Forces are frequently closing the road causing inconvenience to the people,” he said.

Deputy speaker Nazir Gurezi, who was in the chair, directed the government to look into it. “It is a serious issue,” he said.

Responding to the legislator, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Abdul Rehman Veeri said government will look into the issue. “I will  direct the concerned DC to look into the matter,” he said.
