The government on Tuesday posted Abdul Gani Mir as additional director general of police, CID, against an available vacancy.
A formal order to this effect was issued by the home department, which also said that Muhammad Sulaiman Salaria shall continue to discharge his duties as director, Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy, Udhampur.
“The post of the director SKPA Udhampur is declared equivalent in status and responsibility to the post of additional director general of police, in terms of rule 12 (1) of the Indian Police Service (Pay Rules, 2016), till it is held by Salaria,” the order read.
The government further ordered that Alok Puri, who was also promoted recently as ADGP, shall continue to hold the charge of the post of IGP, crime, till further orders.
The PHQ shall draw the salary of Puri and Munir Ahmad Khan against the available posts of additional directors general of police, the order read.
