Govt probe into Shopian killings aimed to buy time: Jama’at

Condemning the recent killing of civilians in the firing by Army in Shopian, the Jama’at-e-Islami (JeI) Jammu and Kashmir today termed the enquiry ordered by the local administration as an “attempt to buy time and exonerate army personnel involved in the act.”

“The enquiry ordered by the administration in the incident is nothing but to buy the time and find some concocted justification for exoneration of the Army officer involved in the brutal and dastardly act,” a  spokesperson of Jama’at, in a statement today, said.

The statement said a delegation of Jamaat Islami Jammu and Kashmir led by advocate Zahid Ali expressed the heartfelt sympathy with the bereaved families of two youths Javed and Suhail hailing from Ganawpora and Balpora Shopian.
