Government has released two-month salary of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) teachers ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
Earlier, a high level committee was constituted by the chief secretary J&K to devise a comprehensive strategy to deal with the issues of aggrieved teachers in the school education department including those funded under the centrally sponsored scheme SSA.
“The committee recommended release of Rs. 28600 lakh on account of the salary of SSA teachers,” a spokesman of the department said.
He said acting on the instructions, directorate of Samagra Shiksha released the funds in favour of the concerned chief education officers to clear the salary dues of SSA teachers for February and June 2018.
“The concerned chief education officers (CEOs) have been directed to ensure that the amount reaches to the account numbers of the concerned teachers before Eid-u- Azha,” the spokesman said.
