Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association (HCBA), Srinagar, today strongly condemned 'atrocities and excesses' committed by the forces on the locals at Trichal in Pulwama district.
"The illegal and unlawful act of forces, who barged into the houses of people at Trichal village of Pulwama district on Thursday night and besides beating the residents of the village ruthlessly for about six hours with sticks and gun butts, dragged many of them out from their houses and causing injuries to 18 persons including eight women. The forces also vandalized 40 houses and caused damage to 20 vehicles parked inside and outside their houses," the Bar spokesman said in a statement.
The spokesman said, "The Bar Association also condemns the gruesome act of killing a pregnant woman, Firdousa, at Shadimarg in Pulwama on Friday evening, when she was in her compound and was hit by a bullet in her neck fired by the forces without any provocation or justification. She was rushed to the hospital but she succumbed to the injury."
