A gunfight broke out between the militants and the government forces in Turigam Kaddar village of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Sunday.
Reports said that the gunfight broke out after the forces launched a cordon and search operation in Turigam following inputs about the presence of militants.
As the searches were going on, the militants opened fire, leading to a gunfight, said an official.
He said two to three militants are believed to be trapped in the area.
