Gunfight breaks out in Warpora area of Sopore in north Kashmir

Gunfight broke out between militants and the government forces in Warpora area of Sopore in north Kashmir's Baramulla district on Thursday.

A joint team of Army's 22 RR, special operations group ofpolice and the CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Warpora villageof Sopore on Thursday morning.

A senior Police officer told GNS that as the forcesintensified searches the hiding militants fired upon them triggering anencounter.

As per the sources, one or two militants are believed to betrapped including a top commander.

Internet has been also suspended in parts of Sopore as aprecautionary measures, said the report.
