Gurez Youth Festival 2018 commenced on Sunday in an atmosphere of joyful bonhomie and brotherhood between the army and people, an army spokesman said in a statement.
He said, “The event was inaugurated by brigadier Satinder Singh, Commander Snow Leopard Brigade and Syed Iqbal Chaudhary, deputy commissioner, Bandipora.”
In his welcome address the commander exhorted the children to give equal emphasis to both studies and sports for a brighter Kashmir.
The DC Bandipora commended the youth of Gurez for excelling in various fields in spite of the hardships of nature and extremely inhospitable climate.
