Former deputy speaker Jammu and Kashmir assembly Nazir Ahmad Gurezi has appreciated Army for handing over the body of drowned PaK boy's body to Pakistan army.
"Such gestures act as a bridge to overcome mistrustbetween India and Pakistan as well as enhance people to people contacts. I havealways stood for a healthy relationship between both the countries based onmutual respect, honesty and humanity, " he said in a statement.
He thanked Lt Gen Kanwal Jeet Singh Dhillon, GOC 28 InfantryDivision, Maj Gen Choudhary, Brig Ramesh Bahmbo Commander Gurez Brigade and ColVinayak.
Gurezi also urged the Centre to consider the opening oferstwhile Silk Route between Srinagar and Central Asia via Gurez as it wouldbring both the hostile nations closer and bridge the gap between the peopleliving across the two borders.
He said that Gilgit has much historical importance as it isthe only shortest route available for the silk trade between Kashmir andcentral Asia and bringing people closer to each other.
