Srinagar Dec 7: The Crime Branch Kashmir on Tuesday arrested a man hailing from in north Kashmir's Kupwara district for producing a fake class 12 marks certificate in order to get college admission.

As per a CBK handout, the accused Aejaz Ahmad Malik son of Abdul Gani Malik of village Vilgam in Handwara, was among five others accused in case FIR No: 34/2007 U/S 420,468,471,120-B RPC for producing fake marks certificates of class 12 in order to get admission in different colleges of valley.

The chargesheet in the instant case was filed before the court of law on December 28, 2010, however Malik was absconding and evading arrest since the year 2018, CBK said.

The Warrant U/S 512 was issued by Court of City Judge Srinagar, and accordingly the warrant was executed by Crime Branch Kashmir and the said accused stands arrested in the instant case, it added.
