The High Court on Tuesday directed deputy commissionerKupwara to act against illegal sand extraction from KehmilNallah.
A division bench of Justice Ali Muhammad Magrey and JusticeSanjeev Kumar directed Deputy Commissioner Kupwara and other authorities tostop the illegal sand extraction of sand from KehmilNallah in keeping with thelaw, rules and regulations.
The bench issued the direction while closing a PublicInterest Litigation seeking ban on illegal extraction of sand and bajri fromthe nallah. While none appeared on behalf of thepetitioner GhulamRasoolWani, senior additional advocate general B A Dar representedthe State.
