HCBA supports shutdown call for Feb 9, 11

J&K High Court Bar Association (HCBA), Srinagar, reiterated its demand for settlement of the Kashmir dispute by India and Pakistan in accordance with the wishes of the people of state as guaranteed to them by 28 UN Security Council Resolutions awaiting implementation for the last 70 years.

“HCBA, at its executive committee today, while paying rich tributes to Muhammad Maqbool Bhat and Muhammad Afzal Guroo, reiterated the demand that the mortal remains of both these martyrs be returned to the people of Kashmir so that they are buried with due reverence and respect in Mazar-i- shuhda, Srinagar,” a spokesman of the Bar Association, in a statement today, said.  

   

“The members on the occasion also pledged to pursue the case filed by the Bar Association for the return of the mortal remains of the two martyrs more vigorously so that the long pending desire and demand of the people of Kashmir is met with success,” the spokesman said, supporting the shutdown call for February 9 and 11 and appealing all the members to abstain from court work on these days.

Meanwhile, the members condoled the demise of the mother of advocate S A Makroo, mother of advocate Shafat Ahmad Mir, the aunt of advocate Sana Majid, who breathed their last during the current week.
