A high-tension electric wife snapped here at Wussan, causing damage to electrical and electronic appliances, the residents complained.
Reports said the equipment in laboratory of primary healthcentre Wussan also suffered damage due to the incident.
The residents blamed the Power development Department (PDD)for the mishap. They alleged that they had informed the department about thedanger of the line, which had fallen several times in the past, however, no oneheard them.
"Hundreds of electric and electronics goods includingtelevision sets, CCTV cameras, computers, geysers and other home applianceswere damaged. It could have been fatal," said Sheikh Ghulam Rasool, a local,claiming the damage to the equipment could run in lakhs.
Meanwhile, Sub Divisional Magistrate Kangan Hakim TanveerAhmed along with tehsildar Kangan and AEE PDD visited the area and sought theexplanation from the concerned officials about the incident.
"We have restored the line. The PDD officials have been toldto replace the HT line wire and ensure such incidents doesn't reoccur," saidthe SDM. He said that the local PDD staff has been shifted from the area.
