Srinagar June 11: Police along with security forceson Saturday claimed to have killed a Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist in a gunfight in Khandipora area of south Kashmir's Kulgam district.
"KulgamEncounterUpdate: 01 #terrorist of proscribed #terror outfit HM killed. #Operation in progress. Further details shall follow, " a police spokesman said.
The identity of the slain was not immediately known.
The encounter broke out during the early hours today after security forces cordoned the area.
