HPCL flags off 20 tank trucks for Leh

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd on Thursday flagged off 20 tank trucks from HPCL, Jammu depot to HPCL Leh depot.

A statement said the trucks will complete the 1400-kmarduous round trip journey passing through the challenging Banihal and Zojillapasses and ensure the product was safely delivered to the highest altitudedepot in India.

   

“This kicks off the dispatch of fuel for summer season andwinter stocking process wherein HPCL will dispatch more than 25,000 kiloliterof petroleum products like petrol, diesel and kerosene for consumption ofgeneral public and armed forces in Ladakh,” the statement said.

“In the current COVID19 pandemic situation the HPCL team inJammu and Kashmir is braving all challenges to deliver these essentialpetroleum commodities to remote corners of the Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. HPCLalways stands up and rise to the occasions and keep the engines burning forLadakh,” the statement said.
