A Hurriyat activist in Plan area of North Kashmir's Bandipora district was arrested on Monday evening, police said.
A senior police official said that they have arrested a "most wanted" Hurriyat activist here from his residence in Plan.
Tahir Ahmad Mir, 24, son of Habibullah Mir, resident of Ward No. 2 Plan Bandipora was arrested from his residence at around 7:30 pm.
"There are 13 FIR's registered against him in police station Bandipora," said the official. "Tahir has organised hundreds of pro-freedom rallies in and around Bandipora town during the current uprising in the valley," police said.
Pertinently, Tahir was an employee in Education department working as laboratory bearer. He was terminated from his services for leading protests during the ongoing uprising in Kashmir.
