Hurriyat Conference (M) on Wednesday paid rich tributes to its former executive member Sheikh Abdul Aziz who was killed in 2008, stating that the slain leader stood like a rock on his convictions and all his life fought for the people's movement for right to self determination.
The Hurriyat also strongly condemned the nocturnal raids in various villages in Tral and Pulwama and arresting the relations of militants.
In a statement here, the Hurriyat spokesman said that Sheikh Abdul Aziz will always be remembered for his contribution towards the "ongoing struggle."
"Under the banner of Hurriyat, he worked tirelessly shoulder to shoulder with other leaders. The mission of Sheikh Aziz and all others who have sacrificed their lives is etched in our consciousness and will never be compromised upon," the spokesman said.
Paying rich tributes to the five militants killed in an encounter at north Kashmir's Rafiabad area of Baramulla district, the spokesman said that the Kashmiris are indebted to the youth for offering the great sacrifice of their life for a cause.
The Hurriyat spokesman condemned the nocturnal raids in various areas of Tral that include Pinglish, Gulshan Pora, Ameerabad, Mongehama, Jawaharpora, Laam, Sheerabad, and many other villages.
