If elected, will fight for protection of article 35A: Akbar Lone

National Conference parliamentary candidate for Baramulla-Kupwara constituency, Muhammad Akbar Lone Saturday said he will fight for the protection of article 35A if he wins the election.

“If I win the election, I assure you that there will be notinkering with Article 35A, as this is the biggest issue we have,” he said.

   

Addressing a party convection at TRC Kupwara, he said the”relation” between India and Kashmir “is because of Article 35A. If this iseroded or weakened, the relation will break.”

Addressing media on the sidelines of the convection, he saidthere will be no friendly contest between the National Conference and theCongress in the upcoming elections. “The candidate from the Congress willcontest as a rival candidate against me; to defeat him is my work and theCongress is worse than BJP,” he said.

He said the present situation in Kashmir was “because ofMufti Mohammad Sayeed who is the responsible for every kind of destruction inKashmir.”

“Late Mufti tried many times to weaken the article 370 whichgives special status to Jammu and Kashmir, but every time he failed,” he said.

Hundreds of people fromdifferent areas of Kupwara participated in the convection.

Besides Akbar Lone, othersenior party leaders present on the occasion included former law minister andEx-MLA Kupwara Mir Saifullah, Kaiser Jamsheed Lone, Mohammad Ramzan Chowdharyand some senior party workers.
