District Development Commissioner, Anshul Garg, who is also chairman of District Red Cross Society, today chaired a meeting to review functioning of the Society here today.
The meeting was attended by ADC Kupwara, ACR Kupwara, JDPlanning, CEO, CMO, EO Langate and Handwara besides other district officers ofvarious departments.
TheDDC asked the participants to help in creating awareness regarding the role ofRed Cross society in saving human lives during disaster like situations.
The meeting had adetailed discussion on various issues and thrust was laid on raisingcontributory funds to meet the requirements of people during calamities,disasters and emergent situations. The participants put forth varioussuggestions and innovative ideas to further streamline services of the Societyfor the cause of the needy people.
To generate the funds for proper functioning of District RedCross Society, DDC asked the officers to enhance the number of Red Crossvolunteers in every block to meet out any urgency or disaster like situationsin their local areas.
