Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) vice-chairman advocate Bashir Ahmad Bhat today said calling for inquiry into the murder of an innocent student Gowhar Ahmad Nazir Dar was an attempt to 'shield the killers'.
"Forces have yet again brutally killed another innocent Kashmiri youth in cold blood and to hide the criminal act of forces, so-called rulers have again called for an inquiry. These inquiries are only called only for covering up the crimes committed by Indian forces and police," Bhat said while, addressing a condolence meeting at the slain Gowhar's residence at Zanakote, here,
"Callous rulers of Jammu Kashmir by blaming and condemning those who protested against this brutal killing instead of those who brutally killed this innocent young boy have actually exposed themselves and it shows that they have crossed every limit of shame and insensitivity," he added.
Paying rich tributes to Gowhar Nazir, Bhat said, "These gallant martyrs are our real heroes and today we want to assure his bereaved family that whole Kashmir is behind them in this hour of grief and sorrow." Condemning the continuous detention of JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik and others including Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi, Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Mir Siraj ud Din , Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri, Muhammad Amin Magloo, Fayaz Ahmad and Imtiyaz Ahmad, Bhat termed it as glaring example of 'frustration of rulers'.
