Internet services restored in Kashmir after re-poll ends

Mobile Internet and Broadband services were restored in Kashmir on Thursday evening after re-poll at 38 polling stations in central Kashmir’s Budgam district came to an end.

Mobile Internet and Broadband services were restored in Kashmir on Thursday evening after re-poll at 38 polling stations in central Kashmir's Budgam district came to an end.

While broadband services were snapped today morning, mobile Internet remained suspended since the midnight of April 8.

The services were snapped as authorities feared that rumour mongering on social media networks could trigger violence during polls.

However, the snapping of services couldn't prevent the violence that consumed lives of eight protesters who were killed in firing by government forces during polling on Sunday.
