Internet snapped in Shopian after militant killings

Mobile Internet was suspended in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thursday following the killing of three militants in a gunfight with the government forces.

An official said the service was suspended as aprecautionary measure to prevent law and order situation in the area.

   

The gunfight broke out early today after the forces launchedsearches in Kellar area of Shopian following a tip-off about the presence ofmilitants.

A police official said the bodies of the three slainmilitants were recovered from the gunfight site. “Their identity is beingestablished,” he said.
