Is anybody listening?

Contractors assigned by Power Development Department to lay electric poles and wires before the end of financial year have left open two trenches which pose risk to residents of Shivpora's Rose Colony while adjacent to the dug up holes lie heavy transformer that stands erect over wooden but worn out logs. One among the four logs is almost on verge of collapse near the CRPF bunker which is disaster in the making for entire area. Srinagar city over the years has witnessed massive installation of electric poles and wires and PDD has failed to remove the old ones which it had promised at the time of installation of new ones by its contractors resulting in city being junked with wires and poles. I am the resident of Pulwama in south Kashmir and am working outside the Valley.  I had applied for the post of laboratory assistant. Many aspirants like me who are working outside the Valley cannot reach Srinagar.  I request the Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board to set one Centre outside the state for candidates like me to appear for the exam.

Dogs unleash terror in  Batamaloo

The inhabitants particularly school going children and elderly people are unfortunately under fear psychosis due to the presence of dozens of canines in Old Khadi Mill land at Shah Faisal Abad Batamaloo. The said land which is officially under the possession of Sewerage and Drainage Divisional Store has become a breeding ground for canines. Last week a child had a vnarrow escape as more than one dozen dogs tried to attack him. Timely intervention of the local boys saved his life. We hope concerned authorities will take a note and would help us to get rid of canines.

Candidates appeal SSB

We the aspirants want to bring it into the notice of JKPSC and JKSSB, that pur exams for the posts of 'lab-assistant' are scheduled to be held on 14th Feb at SSM college Kashmir and we have to appear for KAS main exams in Jammu on 15th Feb. We cannot attend both the exams, in this regard we request SSB to postpone our lab-assistant exam as we are only hundreds of candidates and KAS aspirants are in thousands and KAS exam has been pending from few years, so it is easy for SSB to postpone exam.

We have brought this issue into the notice of the concerned authorities on many occasions but no one has paid any heed towards our repeated pleas. There are about 2000 mobile connections in our village. We urge the mobile companies to pay attention towards us and install towers so that we get connectivity.
