Students appeal Chief Minister

We the students want to bring into the notice of the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti the grave issue of NEET, which has made many aspiring candidates ineligible by framing upper age limit and by restricting the seats under state's control.

Earlier it was said the eligibility criteria would be guided by the norms laid down by the state. In this year's prospectus of CBSE-NEET these seats have been included in all India quota. This won't help the students from JK.

We request the Chief Minister to take a note of this issue and take urgent steps to make the students from JK eligible for the upcoming NEET exams by applying state's own eligibility criteria

Provide backup power source

T

here are around thirty BSNL broadband connections and around sixty BSNL landline connections in Khrew area. It is very unfortunate and the carelessness of authorities that there is no backup power source at our BSNL Sub-Exchange office Khrew. When the main power supply in the area is snapped or there is a scheduled cut-, the exchange system shuts off thus all the landline and broadband connections in the area stop working, we request the concerned authorities to provide a backup power source to our Sub-Exchange office so that subscribers don't face problems during power cuts.

Repair Berigam-Bonigam Road

D

ue to pathetic condition of the road from Berigam to Bonigam the residents of Berigam, Sopat, Gundpopora and Chowgam are facing tremendous hardships. It is the distance of 5 Kms only but the time which the mini bus drivers take to cover this distance is about 40 minutes due to the dilapidated condition of the road. The road was macdamised way back in 2003 since then no repair work has been carried out. We raised this issue with the concerned authorities a number of times but they did not pay any heed.

Upgrade SDH Sopore

W

e the residents of Sopore appeal Director Health Service Kashmir to upgrade Sub District Hospital Sopore to district hospital. SDH Sopore caters to more patients than district hospital Baramulla as Sopore is the heart of north Kashmir. Patients from Bandipora and Kupwara district also visit SDH Sopore for treatment. Also more specialist doctors should be made available in Sopore hospital so that people from north Kashmir don't need to visit Srinagar for treatment.

There are six physiotherapists in district hospital Baramulla but none in Sopore hospital. One or two physiotherapists should be deputed at Sopore hospital also.

Save Kashmir from dogs

K

ashmir is the only place in the world where stray dogs in large packs roam freely and attack people as per their sweet will and unleash terror. The government acting as a mute spectator adds insult to the injuries of a common man, whose life these dogs have made miserable. The multi-crore project for sterilization of dogs has not been implemented to the satisfactory degree till date and stray dogs pose a grave threat to our lives. Government must come up with a comprehensive plan to root out the dog menace from Kashmir.
