Jamaat, JaH condemn ‘vicious’ campaign against Dr Zakir Naik
Jamaat-I-Islami and Jamiat-ul- Ahlihadees have condemned the" vicious campaign" unleashed by the rulers and media against veteran Islamic scholar, preacher, founder of Peace TV and IRF Dr Zakir Abdul Kareem Naik.
In a statement here a spokesman of Jamaat-I-Islami advocate Zahid Ali said, " Jamaat denounces the registration of false and frivolous case against Dr Zakir Naik. It's an infringement of the fundamental right to profess, propagate and practice one's religion and faith and also an act of intimidation so as to forcibly stop him from carrying on his noble mission to serve the truth as contained in the Book of Allah and the traditions of the holy Messenger (SAW) of Allah may peace be upon him."
He also expresses dismay and anguish over the attitude of some Muslim clerics who supported the inhuman action of BJP government. "At this juncture every sane Muslim should condemn the unjustified government action. The Muslims should unite against the anti- Islamic forces."
JAH slams hate campaign
Terming 'vicious' campaign against Dr Zakir Naik as highly condemnable, the Jamiat president Prof Ghulam Muhammad Butt and general secretary Dr Abdul Lateef Al-Kandi, in a joint statement said, "The false propaganda against a famous Islamic scholar by rulers and their bias media are like waging a war against Muslims. The rulers should refrain from acts that can ignite situation and worsen atmosphere."
Condemning the grenade attack on the residence of its member Zubair Ahmad Tahiri, son of veteran Islamic scholar late Abdul Rashid Tahiri, at Batamaloo on Eid day, Jamiat leaders said, "This is the second time when this house has been attacked during current year. Police and authorities showed reluctance even in registering a case which is directly or indirectly boosting the morale of attackers and hence putting into jeopardy the life of Zubair Tahiri and his family."
Jamiat leaders warned attackers that they stand exposed before common people and JAH is firmly standing behind Tahiri family.
