Madani appealed to all the stakeholders to extend their support in establishing peace in the region.  “Kashmiri people are tired of continuous bloodletting in the region and hence nothing could be dearer and more precious than prevalence of peace for them,” Madani said adding that the holy month of Ramadhan  is the best occasion to achieve it. “The month of Ramazan is harbinger of goodwill and peace in its all means as it exhorts people for lending cooperation to the weaker and poor sections of society.”

Expressing optimism that the Army Chief will “observe ceasefire sincerely and honestly”, Madani appealed to Kashmiri people that they should extend their “full support and cooperation in restoration of peace and normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir and thwart the design of violent forces.”

Maulana Madani reiterated that the use of violence has failed to produce any positive result in the past. “Therefore it is urgently needed to make efforts for peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue,” he said while exhorting the Government of India to “take further initiatives for finding a permanent and durable solution to the Kashmir issue.”
