JKLF concerned over detainees’ plight

Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal on Thursday condemned, what he said, the atrocities being perpetrated on the political detainees lodged in different jails in and outside Kashmir.

Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal on Thursday condemned, what he said, the atrocities being perpetrated on the political detainees lodged in different jails in and outside Kashmir.   

"Subjecting detainees to physical and mental torture is against the norms of humanity and democracy," Kalwal said in a statement. 

"The incarcerated leader of JKLF Nazir Ahmad Sheikh, serving life sentence and currently lodged at Kote Bhalwal Jail, Jammu, was recently brought to Srinagar court for trial. He was immediately shifted back to Kotbalwal Jail," Kalwal said.    

Meanwhile, Kalwal paid rich tributes to its Ghulam Mohi-ud -Din Deejo on his death  anniversary, describing him as "one of the dedicated activist of JKLF who sacrificed his life for the Kashmir cause.
