JKLF (R) hails US state official’s statement
Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (R) chief patron Barrister Abdul Majid Tramboo today hailed the statement of senior state official of USA, terming it encouraging.
"Though the stand regarding Kashmir is encouraging but it is the stubborn attitude and arrogance of India that is delaying the peaceful settlement of Kashmir issue," a spokesman of the Front, in a statement issued here today, quoted Tramboo as having said.
He impressed upon USA to use its good office and intervene to solve this pending issue.
"Kashmir is neither an issue related to border nor an issue between two countries," Tramboo said, urging the world community to help solve the issue through UN resolutions or through tripartite talks between all stakeholders," he said.
"Jammu Kashmir was never a part of India and rhetoric about its being an integral part is quite ridiculous," Tramboo said.
Castigating authorities over unleashing a "reign of terror" in J&K, Tramboo said, "during night raids and with unproportional use of state force, innocent people feel insecure."
Referring to death of a youth Shabaz Ahmad Khatana, he said "he was chased by the forces till he jumped in river but unfortunately was drowned. State authorities are responsible for his death."
