Bandipora, Nov 29: General Secretary of the J&K BJP, Ashok Koul Monday said that statehood to the union territory will be restored “once J&K achieves normalcy, selective killings stop and a common man can move freely”.
Koul was talking to the media on the sidelines of workers meeting in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
“Prime minister and home minister have stated on the floor of the parliament that statehood will be restored. As and when the situation in J&K is normalised, selective killings are stopped and a common man can move around freely, statehood will be restored,” Koul said.
He said that the J&K Delimitation Commission was “due to submit its report before March 6 and based on the report 90 seats will go to polls immediately after the commission files the report”.
Reacting to the recent civilian killings in Kashmir, Koul said the killings were the “BJP’s biggest concern as people who are associated with the party were being killed”.
“BJP is against all these selective killings as no religion allows such cowardly act.”
