A journalist today fainted after he was allegedly given life threats and abused by some members of a political party.

Qayoom Khan, a Pulwama-based journalist, was shifted to district hospital Pulwama in unconscious state, wherefrom he was discharged after treatment.

"Two members of the political party called me, and abused me badly. They told me that I had reported about their youth leader. I told them that I had not but they continued abuses and gave me life threats. They threatened me that they would get me killed. I could not bear it and I fainted," Qayoom said.

"I along with other journalists filed a written complaint in police station Pulwama in which I have mentioned the names of the persons who threatened me," he said.

Shopian-Pulwama Working Journalists Guild has condemned the act by the political party.
