Kakapora town of South Kashmir's Pulwama district Monday observed complete shutdown against random arrests of youth in the area.
All shops and educational institutions remained shut while transport was off the roads. The locals staged a protest seeking release of detained youth. The protesters told CNS that during late hours on Sunday some forces personnel in civvies appeared in the area and started chanting pro-freedom and pro-Islamic slogans. "Four youth came out of their houses to inquire about the matter but forces personnel apprehended them. They were interrogated and on their identification four more youth were arrested and lodged at some unknown destination," the protesters claimed.
