Kashmir municipal polls: Bandipora records lowest 2 per cent polling till 11 am

Sixteen wards of north Kashmir’s Bandipora municipal committee have recorded 2 per cent polling till 11 am – lowest in the valley.

A government spokesperson said that in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district where the voting is underway for 16 wards, for which 23 polling stations have been established, witnessed just 2 percent voting.

   

In Anantnag’s four wards, five per cent turnout was recorded till 11 am.

Similarly in central Kashmir’s Budgam district where a lone ward is going for polls recorded only 3 percent voting till 11 am.

Three per cent polling was recorded until 11 am in 15 wards of Baramulla district.

Kupwara district recorded the highest voting percentage from Kashmir with 18 percent for 18 wards.

Jammu and Kashmir’s summer capital Srinagar where only three wards are going for polls witnessed 3.5 percent voting till 11 am.

In Ladakh, Leh recorded 26 percent voting for 133 wards till 11 am. Similarly the region’s Kargil district witnessed 33 percent turnout till 11 am for 13 wards.

The Jammu division of the state is witnessing brisk voting where Rajouri witnessed 55 percent turnout till am for 59 wards and Poonch recorded 47 percent for 26 wards.

The Jammu municipal corporation recorded 34 percent voting for 583 wards till 11 am.
