Terming March 16, as a "black day" in history, the Hurriyat Conference (G) senior leader and Jammu Kashmir National Front (NF) chairman Nayeem Ahmad Khan today said that "after the whole population was sold by Britishers to Gulab Singh by means of the infamous agreement known as 'The Treaty of Amritsar', illegal control still haunts the people of the state."

"People have suffered in last seven decades, especially youth are being continuously and deliberately targeted so that the younger generation lives under a constant threat," a spokesman of the NF, in a statement today, quoted Nayeem Khan as saying while addressing a meeting Front leaders and activists at Baramulla in north Kashmir.

Condemning the killing of a minor girl, Kaneeza, and injuring other minor boy, Faisal, allegedly by the armed forces in Kupwara, yesterday, Nayeem Khan said, "It is yet another worst example of state terrorism committed by forces on the people of Kashmir," he said.
