Killings evoke widespread condemnation

Militant outfits Lashkar-e-Toiba, Harkat-ul-Mujahideen and other organizations have paid rich tributes to militants and civilians killed gunfights across southern districts and other parts of Kashmir on Sunday.

In a statement here chief commander of Lashkar-e-Toiba Mahmood Shah said, “New Delhi and its forces are committing severe atrocities. They are not even sparing even the elderly, men, women and children. New chapters of atrocities are being written while the human rights organisations are silent on the incident. The media takes every Kashmiri men, women, elderly and children as terrorists.” 

   

Shah said, “New Delhi is pushing the oppressed to an extent that the waves of similar oppression that roam Kashmir reach out to Mumbai and Calcutta. The world will then term them as terrorism. But the forces are busy in committing severe atrocities, killing the children indiscriminately. The women are being molested and raped but no one dares to step up.”

Shah appealed Pakistan’s administration to take “proactive and responsible steps in putting an end to the repression being faced by Kashmiris.”  

Harkat-ul-Mujahideen 

Militant outfit Harkat-ul-Mujahideen has paid glowing tributes to the militants killed in three different gunfights in different parts of southern districts on Sunday and has also condemned the killing of civilians in the post gunfight clashes. 

In a tele-statement issued to KNS, the spokesman of the outfit Hasan Askari while quoting operational commander Sajjad Shahid said, “Harkat-ul-Mujahideen condemns the killing of civilians during post gunfight clashes in south Kashmir parts and pays glowing tributes to the militants killed in three gunfights.” 

Jamaat-Islami

Jamaat-Islami expressed deep anguish over the “massacre” of innocent people going on continuously in the Valley due to “stubborn attitude of government of New Delhi regarding the resolution of the long pending human issue of Jammu and Kashmir.”

In a statement here a Jamaat spokesman said, “The people of Kashmir have been demanding the permanent settlement of issue as per the promises made to them directly and through the international forum of United Nations Security Council and holding of tripartite negotiations among India, Pakistan and the people of Kashmir.”

He said, ” Jamaat expresses its solidarity with the bereaved families whose near and dear ones died in Dayalgam Anantnag and Dragad and Kachdora villages in Shopian and pays very rich tributes to them.” 

HCBA

J&K High Court Bar Association Srinagar expressed grave concern over the killing of more than a dozen Kashmiris by the government forces at Dialgam Anantnag and Shopian and also injuring of more than 50 others, by use of bullets and pellets.

In a statement here a J&KHCBA spokesman said, “The peace loving members of the international community should to take a serious notice of the happenings in Kashmir and bring the preplanned, predetermined and systemic genocide of the Kashmiri people, which is going on for the past 70 years to an immediate end”. 

“The Bar Association also requests the United Nations and the members of the Security Council including the International Criminal Court, OIC and other human rights organizations of the world, to take cognizance of the matter and besides getting those, who are responsible for the killing of innocent Kashmiris prosecuted, get the resolutions of Security Council on Kashmir implemented, without any further loss of time because the non-implementation of those resolutions is a sad-reflection on the very functioning of the United Nations and the Security Council,” the spokesman added.

JKDFP

Expressing deep shock and grief over the fresh killings and maiming at the hands of government forces in Kashmir, Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) on Sunday warned that if the situation was left unaddressed it can prove disastrous as nobody can control it then.

In a statement here JKDFP secretary general, Moulana Muhammad Abdullah Tari said, “Hearts of every Kashmiri are bleeding as our youth are being continuously killed on one pretext or the other.”

 He expressed shock over the killings of brave hearts in Draged and Kachdora areas of Shopian. He also condemned the killing of an unarmed youths and injuring of dozens at the hands of the men in uniform.

“If the Kashmir situation is not addressed properly it has every potential to go out of control of everybody,” Moulana Tari said adding if the killing spree does not end immediately the circumstances can go anybody’s beyond control.

Hurriyat Conference (JK)

Spokesperson of Hurriyat Conference (JK)   Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi said that HCJK fully supports the strike call given by the Joint Resistance Leadership against the killings of militants and civilians.   

He paid a glowing tributes to the slain militants and the civilians and reiterated that their mission would be taken to its logical conclusion. 

National Front

Jammu and Kashmir National Front expressed deep concern over the fresh killings in Kashmir at the hands of government forces. 

In a statement here a NF spokesman said, “Kashmiri youth are being massacred by the forces for their only sin that they want their birthright. Killings are taking place at every nook and corner of Jammu Kashmir as Delhi and it’s local agents want to kill the ongoing movement of Kashmiri people. However, the bruised Kashmiri people have once and for all decided not to compromise on their political rights so unless and until New Delhi accepts the political demand of Kashmiri people there can be no peace, development and stability.”

The NF spokesman paid rich tributes to the slain youth and reiterated that their sacrifices won’t go in a vain. 

JKLF (R) 

Chief patron JKLF (R) barrister Abdul Majid Trumbo and general secretary Wajahat Bashir Qureshi in a joint statement expressed deep grief over the killings and paid tributes to the youth who were slain in encounters with the forces at Dragged and Kachdoora in Shopian encounter.

“We are proud of their dedication as they serve as torch bearers for ongoing movement,” they said in a statement. They prayed for eternal peace to their souls.

They expressed sympathies and condolences with the bereaved families of these slain youth, saying that “their sacrifices won’t go waste and impressed international community to help and rescue people of Kashmir from ongoing bloodshed.

J&K Young Men’s League

Jammu and Kashmir Young Men’s League chairman Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi supported the strike call given by the Joint Resistance Leadership and paid rich tributes to the militants and the youth killed in south Kashmir and other parts of the Valley. 

In a statement here Reshi said, “Sacrifices offered by our youth will not allowed to go in a vain despite all odds their mission will be taken into its logical conclusion.   Kashmiri youth have played a important role to internationalize the movement and sacrifices offered by them has brought Kashmir on Centter stage.”
