KU authorities send question papers to Budgam college on WhatsApp

 The second semester students of social work and computer science streams of GDC Beerwah in Budgam district on Tuesday complained that their exam papers arrived late from Kashmir University and that the varsity authorities sent the papers on WhatsApp to their college authorities.

About 150 students appeared for exams in social work and computer science streams. The examination was supposed to start at 10.30 am in the morning till 12 noon. Students complained that they were not given question papers on time. “Half of our time was over when we were given the question papers,” the students alleged, adding that they came to know that university authorities had sent question booklets on WhatsApp and email of the college administration. “The university officials sent the examination papers through our WhatsApp and that too at 11.45 am when the examination was about to end. They asked us to print them locally,” said a college official.

   

“The teachers of degree college Beerwah didn’t convey us on time that they don’t have the examination papers. They called us at 10:30 am and by then it was hard for us to send university bus with examination papers. That’s why we sent the papers through email,” said Mohammad Yusuf, controller examination Kashmir University. “It was not deliberate and some students who had opted for the subject late got updated late in Kashmir University records.”
