Kulgam man critical, put on ventilator support at SMHS Hospital

Doctors at SMHS Hospital Srinagar on Wednesday said a civilian injured in Kulgam clashes is critical and has been put on ventilator support.

Abdul Salam Bhat of Khudwani was hit by a bullet in his neck, at Qaimoh, where clashes broke out after a gunfight between militants and government forces.

   

Doctors said that Bhat has been operated upon, but the injury is life threatening. “We have put him on ventilator,” said a doctor treating him.

Another civilian, 16 year old Yasir Abdullah from Khudwani was also brought to the hospital with a bullet injury in lower abdomen. Doctors said that his condition is stable.

Four more people with pellet injuries in eye have also been admitted to the hospital.

At least three civilians have died in clashes with government forces.

However, a police spokesman said that the civilians died in cross-fire.
