Scores of residents of Redwani area of south Kashmir's Kulgam district on Monday held a protest demonstration at Press Enclave here against the establishment of a new army camp in the area.
The protesters, including women and children, assembled at Press Enclave in Lal Chowk Srinagar and raised anti-government slogans.
The protesting villagers threatened to migrate from their village if the newly established camp was not removed at the earliest.
The protesters said a week ago a new army camp was established at Redwani Bala area of the Kulgam district and after some days the forces without any provocation damaged the villagers' properties.
A protester said the area has a huge presence of army camps and that there was no need to establish new ones in their area.
"In three kilometer radius our area has already four camps then why to establish new army camp," he asked.
They appealed to the government to remove the camp at the earliest.
