A youth from Kulgam district drowned in a nallah in Reshnagri village here on Tuesday.
According to reports, the 24-year-old youth was taking a bath in the nallah, along with his friends, when he slipped and drowned.
People including his friends unsuccessfully tried to save him. His body was retrieved from the nallah more than an hour later.
The deceased has been identified as Idrees Ahmad Mir, son of Abdul Rashid Mir of Oyel village of Damhal area in Kulgam.
