Complete shutdown was observed in parts of Kupwara district on Wednesday over killing of a local militant.
The shutdown was observed in Handwara and Langate town over local militant’s killing.
Commercial establishments and educational institutions remained closed, while skeletal transport was witnessed on the majority of district’s roads. Pertinently, two Lashkar-e-Toiba(LeT) militants were killed in a gunfight at Galoora area of the district yesterday. One of the slain militants identified as Furkan (18) hailed from the district.
